Biography:Dan Burkholder has a long history of looking beyond the photographic horizon to see, explore, and teach the next great thing in imaging. He has been teaching digital imaging workshops for 15 years at venues spanning three continents and several island countries. His workshops are known for their energy, information, and humor. Dan’s award-winning book, Making Digital Negatives for Contact Printing, has become a standard resource in the fine-art photography community.
His book, The Color of Loss, documents the flooded interiors of post-Katrina New Orleans and is the first coffee-table book entirely produced using HDR methods; his new book, iPhone Artistry, is the most comprehensive and fun how-to book for iPhone photographers. Dan earned his B.A. and Master’s degrees in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. His platinum/palladium and inkjet prints are included in private and public collections internationally.

Your iPhone can be a powerful creative tool, from incredible captures to amazing prints.
Hiding within your iPhone is one of the most inspiring, capable, and just plain fun imaging systems in all of photography. More than just a snapshot device, the iPhone is a powerful camera that invites creative exploration while freeing your shoulders from the weight and bulk of larger camera systems. Imagine a camera, darkroom, and visual research laboratory, all in your shirt pocket! Liberated from rushing home to your computer, you can capture and process your images in the field. And when it comes to printing your iPhone images, you will be amazed at the color, depth, and texture of your prints.
This is your opportunity to learn the creative power and stunning output that is possible from your iPhone from one of today’s leading experts in “iPhoneography”. Learn capture techniques that are specific to iPhone photography and what works best to make your captures match your vision. Create an iPhone workflow that takes you from capture to final image, with an emphasis on creating beautifully artistic images.
We’ll spend time in the field with a special field trip to Glacier National Park and in the classroom exploring this exciting technology. It’s time to stop wondering what you can do with your iPhone, and time to start making gorgeous images and prints!
